Extends Med-Tech Laser Processing Capabilities to Europe, USA, Israel, Mexico, And South America, Big Plans for Robotic Surgery Market.
San Francisco, Jan 2020 — David Schnur Associates today announced the newest addition to their medical device design and manufacturing partnership network with a keystone agreement with XL Precision Technologies. Through this strategic alignment, DSA will bring laser processing (laser cut tubes, flat laser cutting, laser ablation, laser welding, and laser etching), micro-machining (laser machining, CNC machining, EDM machining wire & sink, and 3D metal printing), clean room assembly, and quick-turn prototyping capabilities to their customers across the USA, Europe, Mexico, Israel, and South America.
“XL Precision Technologies is extremely good at rapid prototyping, addressing a huge gap in the industry,” says DSA CEO Barry Schnur. “Before even announcing our partnership we have secured orders for XL PT’s rapid prototyping capabilities throughout California. When you have California companies going to Europe for prototyping, it’s clear that we have identified an immensely in-demand offering.”
In addition to rapid prototyping, XL Precision Technologies 20 years of endoscopy and laparoscopy component manufacturing experience have them primely positioned to continue expansion into the robotic surgery market, a market that is estimated to reach $24B by 2025. “A lot of robotic surgery companies have succeeded in developing the backend technology including the visualizations and the integrations,” explains Darren Vine of XL Precision Technologies. “It’s the devices that they are struggling with developing. Customers are extremely excited when they find our capabilities, because we’re experienced in the exact technologies companies working on robotic surgery devices need.”
Both XL Precision Technologies sites in Stockton on Tees (UK) and West Chester (USA) have on-site engineers to answer questions related to their laser processing, micro-machining, clean room assembly, and quick-turn prototyping capabilities, ensuring that engineers can speak directly to other engineers exactly when needed. Says Barry Schnur, “This is a nimble, fast growing company that has proven processes and technologies. They are hungry for new business, and our team will help them get there.”
